Furry friends

These are my "children"!

Parker is 6 years old and is the most persistent puppy I have ever seen. On a typical day he is sleeping, playing with a racquet ball or begging for someone to give him the "object". Code words have to be used because he gets overly excited when he hears the word "ball". Although he has never attacked anyone, Parker enjoys greeting guests and passerbys by charging them and barking non-stop. He loves to take road trips anywhere. Sometimes he is my driver and commander. Giving Parker a bath is real chore, but I try and make the most of it when I can. When he is resting, I often find him in funny sleeping positions and can't help but [quietly] get the camera out! He is my first puppy love and I couldn't ask for a more cool puppy. Truly one-of-a-kind!

My youngest, Ellie is 2 years old. She has a special story. I was up early on a Friday morning before class and she happened to be an adoption pet on the Arkansas news station - KNWA. I went through the adoption process and at just 6 weeks old, Ellie became a part of my life. She is constantly by my side when she isn't sleeping or chewing on her bone. Occassionally, she enjoys torturing a toy by ripping out it's insides. Ellie can't be missed or mistaken. She always lets people know she is around with many friendly barks and "grunts". Even though she is loud, she is the sweetest puppy in town. She finds all flying, crawling, jumping, and slithering creatures intriguing. She plays with all creatures until death. Ellie also enjoys playing defensive tackle with Parker and the previoulsy mentioned "object". She will chase him around the house and try to block his every move. They play so well together! By far, Ellie's favorite thing to do is stare out all windows of my house. This means Windex and paper towels are always on hand.

Welcome!

My name is Lindsay. I frequently use e-mail, Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare…let’s add a blog to the mixture. A majority of my thoughts, tirades and tangents will be gathered here. Why "Porch Dwellings"? Despite the hot summer we are experiencing in Tulsa, I find I always love to sit on a deck, patio, porch, veranda or whatever you may call it. Simply stated, outside! You might find we have something in common – a topic of interest – or just need something to read in your downtime. My best friend, Kasey, informed me that the pineapple is a universal sign of welcome, hospitality and friendship. So welcome friends, family and visitors. I don’t have a set agenda for my posts, but I hope something sparks your interest and keeps you coming back. I’m a busy young lady, but will attempt to update as much as possible. Pina Coladas anyone?
